The difference between the numbers in this series is ( n, n+2, n+4, n+6, n+8, n+10)
So initial n is 4 because (6-2 = 4)
so missing number is (30 + n + 8) = 42

6,12 is 6
12,20 is 8
20,30 is 10
so the next number would be 12,
that is 30+12=42.....
