I agree with Rupinder Singh. Visa officer has nothing to do
with your college as you are granted admission (I-20). But
sometime students take low grade universities just for the
sake of stepping in US. This is what a visa officer wants to
avoid such admission.
To improve your visa chances try to take admission in good
University.
If you have any financial trouble to pay to that good
university as most of them charge more then you can change
university after you step there. Only for the sake of visa
select it and then dump it...

NO, VISAS ARE NOT DENIED ON THE BASIS OF UNIVERSITY PROFILE
AND CONSULATE IS NOT TOO MUCH CONCERNED ABOUT THE
UNIVERSITY RANKINGS AND ALL..U WILL BE FINE AS LONG AS U
ARE NOT GOING TO A COMMUNITY COLLEGE BECAUSE THEY REALLY
SUCK AND THE COUNCILLORS DO NOT GENERALLY GIVE THE VISAS
FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGES. ALTHOUGH THEY MIGHT NOT ADMIT TO
THIS FACT.

HI iam from delhi . my VISA rejected Twice . i applied SSU california . I have done MCA & 3 year Exp wid IT MNC. now i want go for MBA. Got my I-20. 1st time due to some SEVIS issue but VO said u will not come back thats why i cant issue visa. Iam showing 3 crore 88 lac rupees in my CA statement . 2nd time VO said u have enough Qualification so u dont need MBA ... my frnd already got Visa in same university. plezzzz soem 1 help me ... In our JNTUK system, there is a two subject exception rule, means we can leave two subjects without writing exams or can leave two failed subjects without clearing by the end of engineering. I failed in a subject in my 4th year and didn't need to clear it, so left it. I got all my certificates and got job at the same time. I have been working in infosys from past 3 years till date. Now I am applying for student visa. My doubt is that, do we consider that failed subject as a backlog or not? Do I have a backlog or not?
