in cdma only one bandwidth shared by many members..that

divisible tech.

GSM stands for Global System for Mobile communication. In
GSM use two access methods technics ,That is TDMA and FDMA.
TDMA is Time Division Multiple Access where by the whole
available bandwidth is reserved for particular user in a
given specific time,(Timeslots is given to access the bandwidth)
FDMA is Frequency Division Multiple Access, where by the
available bandwidth is divided into available users. So each
user is part of overall bandwidth.
CDMA- Code Division Multiple Access, the available bandwidth
is given to all users equally but in different codes.

the downloading spead od cdma is higher than gsm.......400
to 700 kbps.(cdma1000)
whereas downloading speed of gsm is 300 to 400 kbps..(edge)

What I think, In simple words,The Mobile phones with
Changeable Sim cards are GSM phones, and Phones with In
built/not changeable sim cards, are CDMA mobile phones.I
dont have full idea, but i think this is the main diffrence.

ANSWER TO A DUMMY LIKE ME.
GSM uses Time division Multiplexing and Feqn division
multiplexing. ie. time slots are given or frequency slots
are given to subscribet to communicate.(some times a mixer
of both. It is similar to one peer communicate at a
time(TDM)or each peer communicate at different volume
levels(FDM).
CDMA uses code division multiplexing. ie. full time and full
bandwidth is available for every peer communicators. but
each communication is coded by different codes. Similar to
different languages.

GSM signal can travel upto a distance of 5 Km where as CDMA signal can travel up to a distance of 10 Km.
GSM is an open dital cellular technology use for transmitting mobile voices and data services.
