Parent segment is any segment that has a dependent segment
beneath it in it hiearchy.
Child segment is any segment that is a dependent segment to
another segement above it in the hiearchy.

A parent segment is the one which is having depedent
segments and a child segment is the one which is dependent
on the segment which is at high level than its level.

I am totally confused on IMS message segments. When I create a message and it contains 5 segments does the entire message have a 32k limit or does each segment have a 32k limit? Is there a setting in the stage1 sys gen that defines if a transaction can receive/send multi-segmented messages?
