tell me about high severity & high priority bug?..

Answer / anitha bharathan

High Severity bugs:
Severity indicates that how severe the bugs affects
the functinality.

High priority bugs:
Priority indicates how fast to fix the bug i.e

There are some bugs having low severity and high
priority.
Eg: If the logo of the company is mispelled in the
application we will give low severity and high priority.

The reason:spelling mistake is not going to affect any
functionality(So low severity), but according to the
customer point of view the misspelled logo is a big issue
(So high priority),so we have to fix it ASAP.

tell me about high severity & high priority bug?..

Answer / purnima

we can have a bug with high severity and priority. Any ways
severity is given by testers and priority to be decided by
business users or managers.

For example when user enters Username and Password.
Password disaplayed in alpha numeric characters instead of
*.

This requires imidiate attentio to be fixed ASAP.Its
severity and priority are critical.

On more example. After client login to application if he
sees Error 500 or Eror 400 instead of application. its
priority and severity are Critical.
