the application into the original customer environment and
check whether it is compatible with in the that environment
or not.

i had watches this question in this site but
some buddy has given the answer for portability testing.i
think port testing is


After completion of user acceptance testing and their
modifications,project mgmt is defining release team along
with few developers and few testers and few hardware
engineers.This release team is conducting PORT Testing in
corresponding customer environment.during this port testing
release team members are observing below factors

compact installation
over all functionality
input device handling
output device handling
secondary storage handling
O.S error handling
coexistence with other software in customer site environment
to share common resources.

After completion of above observations release team is
providing tryning sessions to end users in customer site

port testing nothing but instalation testing.it is done
before the system testing.it is one testing where we create
user type environment in your company and we will test
system compliance with functional and non functional
aspects.while installin only we will observe this things
all files are properly installed are not
memory occupied by the system
suported softwares are installing are not

port testing is process to test the system follows all the requirement such as n/w, compatibility, functionality at the client side

Port Testing will be conducted after UAT.Testers,
developers and client side people will conduct the tesing
whether the system is working or not according to the
client requirements is called as Port testing.
