frnd RTM means Requirements Tracebility Matrix.do not
confuse with trm{test responsebility matrix}.
in RTM ,we will compare our test cases with the
requirements.i.e with srs. why because whethere all my
testcases are covering all requirements or not we will
check it in RTM.
RTM ; THE MAPPING IN BETWEEN REQUIREMENTS AND DEFECTS VIA
TESTCASES/TEST SCENARIOS.

RTM Means Requirements Tracebility Matrix-which contains
requirement ID & Testcase ID - Which describes which
testcase belongs to which Requirement.
if there is any error in RTM, first we need to check
on which requirement/testcase error occurred.then we need
to refer FRS/BRS,need to understand the folw of tht &
prepare testcase to tht requirement in a saparete document
& then report to testlead the same what u did. if he agree
with our's work he will approve & rectify.

RTM –release for manufacturing, the version of a software
product that is given to manufacturers to bundle into
future versions of their hardware products.
RTM is at least one or two weeks before GA(general
availability) because the RTM version must be burnt to disc
and boxed etc.RTM versions are typically released to
manufacturers before they are released to the general
public so that the manufacturers can work out any bugs the
software may encounter with hardware devices. The release
of an RTM version does not necessarily mean that the
creators have worked out all the problems with the
software; there still may be more versions of the product
before it is released to the general public.
However if some defect still persists to exist in the RTM
then include the information about the error in the release
notes, as a known issue, and provide some work around if
any.

Hi All,
I think RTM or TRM are the same.
I do agree with the coments of Mr. Rajendra!. but for my side I need to tell
TRM is a mapping between the Test factors and the Design Phases in the
SDLC. this document done by the senior management persons in Testing
which describes whether all the responsible test factors are exactly meet by
the Testing Team during the Test Execution or not for the Phases during the
Software Development.
Note :- If there is an Error in TRM or RTM the issue is a serious one. It need to
be reported to the concerned management responsible for the Software
Development or the Application Owner for the same.
Thanks
Ravi

RTM -Test Responsibility Matrix
It is high level document.
It is basis for testplan prepraration and test plan review.
If is having error ,the error will refelect test plan
the total testing will be trouble.
Normally it wont contain any error because high level
poeple will take atter care in designing of this document.
if at all any case you should bring it to test lead if you
are testing engineer
or
If you are testlead,
bring it notice of test manager or quality manager.
ok then byeee
