WHAT TO DO IF BANK RECONCILIATION STATEMENT DOES NOT TALLY?..

Answer / krishnaveni

In general, Balence as per the bank shall be treated as the
correct and accordingly payments shall be planned and very
rarely we come accross unacceptable bank charges directly
debited by bank. As a most reputed or valuble customer to
the bank we can negotiate with the banker and get it
knocked off. We can update our bank book based on the bank
statement.

You have to assume one base like your Books than & check

following statment

Opening as per Bank Book
Less: Amount Debited in Bank Book not in Statment
Add: Amount Credited in Bank Book not in Statment

Add: Amount Credited by Bank not in Bank Book
