vxdmp means dynamic multipathig, here it set attributes to the disk arrays , and it monitor the connections to the server by hba ports and load balancing b/w the ports like active-active
and active-passive

1. The major difference between this 2 is how the software
handles load balancing between the paths.
In Vxdmp it does using round robin mechanism, wheres in
EMC Powerpath it does it by checking which path is least
loaded.
2. In powerptah it fail back a path (older) once become
available. rather in older version of veritas u manualy
have to bring back the other path.
