8sp=12cp
sp/cp=12/8
profit percentage is( (sp-cp)/cp )100
or (sp/cp -1)100
(12/8 -1)100

and the selling price of four ball pen will be 4 rupees.
the formulla is
costprice + profit/loss = selling price
let costprice=x
x + sellingpriceof 4 ballpen = selling priceof 12
x = selling priceof 12-sellingpriceof 4 ballpen
x=selling priceof 8
ans= 4 is 50% percent of 8
