1 check for the usability of the mouse.Whether it has
scoller on the top and also the light on the bottom of the
mouse.
2 Check for the basic functionality(smoke Test) whether it
is connected to ur PC or not.
3 Now,check for the functionality , it should be a pointer
on the screen and when it is moved on the links it should
turn out to hand symbol.
4.Check whether the pointer turns out to be a vertical bar
in the textbox.
5.check the scroll bar of a page with the pointer and also
with the scrollbar button on the mouse.
6.Rightclick and verify whether it is showing the
properties of the page in which the mouse is placed.
7.Leftclick and check with the pointer whether we can
select the data .
8.DOuble click on anyof the folder with the leftclick of
mouse it should not allow to open the folder.

1.We need to first check if the mouse is Optical or not by
seeing if this has color light inside it and also must
light when we touch it .
2.check the cabel and port and see if the light is blowing
or not.
3.move the pointer and check if works fine .

Functinality testing ::
1.click Right click and check u are able to cut,paste and
copy and also left click and hold and try to block .
2.when ever it is placed on link check if it changes the
icon .
3.Check if changes to Vertical icon whn we are typing .

lol... Gr8 ans's buddies... but tell me 1 thing, how do u
test for 'optical mouse' ? ur test cases are alo applicable
for ordinary mouse. So, the first basic test case should be
based on whether the mouse is optical or not ?

1.DOuble click on anyof the folder with the leftclick of
mouse it should allow to open the folder.
2.Place the mouse on glass slab,it should not work.
3.Move the cursor to any folder or file,it should display
locations,properties,memory capacity.
4.Go to Control Panel,select Mouse icon,select pointer
shadow in customise field,mouse should display selected
pointer shadow.

We can also add a test case like increase the mouse speed (sensitivity), changing the cursor icon and so on... through control panel.
