Explain how does the elevation and air pressure affect the boiling point of water?
Answer / Swarn Kant Gautam
At higher elevations, the atmospheric pressure is lower which causes water to boil at a lower temperature. The opposite occurs at lower elevations where water boils at a higher temperature due to increased atmospheric pressure. Air pressure also affects the boiling point, as increasing air pressure can raise the boiling point (pressure cooker effect).
