Explain how do you separate hydrogen and oxygen gases in industrial electrolysis of water process?
Answer / Ram Sukh
Hydrogen and oxygen are separated in the industrial electrolysis of water process by passing an electric current through a solution of water (H2O) and an alkali metal hydroxide, typically sodium hydroxide (NaOH). At the cathode, hydrogen gas (H2) is produced, while at the anode, oxygen gas (O2) is produced. The gases are then collected separately.
