"Salesforce provides three types of relationship fields: Master-Detail, Lookup, and Junction. Master-Detail relationships are used to maintain a parent-child relationship between two objects (the master object cannot be deleted if the detail records exist). Lookup relationships allow you to link two objects together, but the lookup field on the child object can be null. Junction objects help create a many-to-many relationship between two objects without creating a Master-Detail or Lookup relationship."
