What is counter current immuno electrophoresis?
Answer / Vandana Barya
Countercurrent immunoelectrophoresis (CIE) is a technique used to separate and identify immunoglobulin molecules based on their electrical charge and size. It uses a series of vertical glass tubes with an electric field applied from top to bottom. The tubes are filled with agarose gel, and samples containing immunoglobulins are loaded at the bottom of each tube.
