what are the items falling under the category of reserves and surplus? whether bills of exchange is a reserves and surplus item
2.whther errors of omission will affect the trial balance
Answer / Neha Gautam
Reserves and Surplus consist of accumulated funds or assets that have been segregated from a company's ordinary operating activities. Examples include Revenue Reserve, General Reserve, Provision for Doubtful Debts, Contingencies, Capital Redemption Reserve, and Investment in Subsidiary Reserves. Bills of Exchange do not fall under this category.
Regarding the trial balance, errors of omission (leaving out an account or incorrectly recording a transaction) can have a significant impact on the trial balance, as they may cause discrepancies between debit and credit totals.
