What would be the probable cut-off for the Group-1 (Mains)
held from 25/09/2011 to 03/10/2011? (I am expecting 440-450)

Hi,
If you take paper wise,
1st paper, it was bit tough
2nd paper, (History-it was easy, Polity - Not easy)
3rd paper, (It was neither easy nor tough)
4th paper, (It was neither easy nor tough)
5th Paper, (Easy for all)
I think on an average the scores could be (70+85+95+95+100)
which accounts to 445 marks.

The general scoring in essay is around 60 and for history around 75, and economy 80 and science 80 of many aspired candidates.
even though maths paper is easy to go, but the first question in the second section and the questions in section - iii may not yield good answers. i expect the average for paper - 5 will be 100 for qualified candidates.
in the last 2008 group-1 exams general category men were called for 420 and above.the highest written marks for all catergories is 481.
History 101 (highestmarks)
Economy - 110 (highest marks)
Science - 127 (")
Mathematics - 120 (")
Essay - 116 (")
The above data can be calculated from the marks list released by APPSC for the 2008 exam.
it should be noted that the candidates who got highest marks are not selected since they got very few marks in other subjects.
so overall performance is important.
so we can expect the total marks may go up to 500 or 510.
i expect the cutoff to be 440 - 450.
but it should be seen that

how many papers are there in preliminary exam and model paper pattern
GROUP 1 WAS notified for number of posts like deputy collector, DSP, RTO, lay officer etc. i dont know Functions of few jobs like lay officers, treasurer etc. so i am finding difficulty in choosing preferences of jobs. Can anyone help me regarding this. Please list the all jobs in priority wise.
