Well, if u have paid transportation for carriage inward, i.e
for carrying materials to ur factory then it is a direct
expense. And if the transportation was paid for carriage
outward, i.e for delivering goods for selling purpose then
it is an indirect expense. A direct expense increases the
cost of goods sold.

THE TRIAL BALANCE AS PER ERP SHOW SOME COST OF PRODCUTION A/C, LABOUR/MATERIAL/VALUE VARIANCE A/C. SAY ALL THESE VARIANCE ARE CORRECT AND BASED ON THE ACTUAL TRANSACTION TAKEN PLACE, HOW SOMEONE CAN A FINAL ACCOUNT MEANT FOR INDIAN ACCOUNTING POLICY WHICH TO BE SUBMITTED TO VARIOUS GOVT BODIES? I AM TOTALLY CONFUSED
