Compatibility testing means test our website in different
platform or different browser like checking our website in
IE 6.0,7.0,8.0,Mozilla Firefox 3.0,3.5,3.6,Google
chroma...many website not support all browser.Like When we
do Compatibility testing find some part are missing in
Mozilla and when we open this website IE find visible all
part of website.For perform this testing use different
combination of hardware and software.

There are some common compatibility defects for web
applications are.
IE Browser - Java script error while loading the page.
Aliments were not consistent in different different browsers.
Functionality will differs on browsers to browsers.

Io check compatibility testing for web
application, check in different browsers.

compatibility is a testing ,this testing will do the
environment testing.the test engineers will check the the
developed product is suitable for which environment ,some
environments not suitable for that product that are called
as compatibility defects.
once install the application in that environment some
features are unable to view like some picture,data etc.

testing the application in different operating systems with different browses with different versions by changing the setting of the browse program is called software compatability testing.
HardWare Compatability Testing:
Testing the allpication with different dardware configurations (like, different processors and,different RAM,different motherboard,Different harddisk,and with VGA programs) is called hardware compatability testing.
EX: all heigh and CAD CAM applications and
all applications which is having more colors, more moving objects and more graphics, for this type of applications we need to test the hardware compatability testing.
