divide a line segment by using compass only.mind u ,
marking arcs on both side can be done by using compas only
but u dont have ruler to join them.

Use compass as suggested in question: marking arcs on both
side.
Now use any one point created by these acrs (above the line
or below the line) and draw a circle in such a way that
this line becomes tanget to the circle. At the point where
circle touches the line will be the mid point.
