@ Sandeep: I think you are mistaken friend. Even I've
qualified for SBI PO/PO(RB) interview and GD and mine is
scheduled on 06th October. From the SBI site "Call Letters
along-with Bio-data Form are being dispatched to the
shortlisted candidates for Group Discussion & Interview. The
candidates who do not receive the same by 27.09.2010
may download the Call Letter & Bio-Data Form from 28.09.2010
onwards from our website."
@ all: As far as i know, the GD will cover general current
affairs topics. Some topics that one can expect would be
Inflation, Global economic recession and its ramifications,
Is India ready to host CWG?, Right to Education, China:
threat to India?, etc.
Can any1 please tell what can be expected at interview?

dont think much 90% they will select every one u can also
expect increase in the no of vacancies . hold u r nerve and
it will be done. best way to prepare is not to prepare
anything.just answer reasonably and its done.

hello friends, i have finished my gd as well as interview
on 4th oct...@koti
My GD topic was poverty & population growth..
yaa...interview went on for a long time of around 30-45
minutes,,, they asked many questions!!! mostly related to
biodata.

well we cant say precisely about the process of allotment of
the date of interview.but it is sure that they are giving
downloading option according to date of interview.like my
interview is on 26 oct so they give me downloading option 7
days earlier.regarding the date of interview based on merit
i cant say anything as no one is in position to tell us
precisely.

my interview was on 4th oct 2010. It was very cool.
in my group GD topic was "IS INCLUSIVE GROWTH IS NECCESSARY
FOR DEVELOPMENT".
IN PI THEY ASKED VERY GENERAL QUESTION LIKE
WHY BANK AFTER ENGG.
HOW TO GROW BANKING IN RURAL AREA.
TECHNICAL QUESTION WAS VERY SIMPLE JUST DEFINITION.
SOME EASY QUESTION FRON GK.

GD Topic :Mergers and aquisitions in corporates:PROS and
Cons
we were around 10 people in the group ,3-4 people like kept
mum throught out as we were from software background and
did not have the the in depth know - how or financial face
of acquisitions mergers as other commerce n mba guys were
talking
Interview Questions: diff between macro economic n micro
Liberalisation of banks and it's affect
asked to discuss on Grameen vikas yojnayein in present 5
year plan.
Really questions were banged on
me.....hammered....nailed....totally screwed

...nungam bakkam..
the gd topic was " India doesnt seem to have good relations
with its neighbours"
PI was cool. Panel consisted one gm and two dgm and an ias
office retd. They were very friendly.....
hobbies and general qtns were asked....

Guys,
I had my interview on 6th Oct 2010 in Koti Main branch,
hyderabad.
I didn't know what an OBC Certificate was.. somehow managed
to get it and attended the interview in the afternoon
session. (It was actually in the forenoon session). Thanks
to the Grace of my aunt and other officers working in the
same branch.
Group discussion was on the lines 'Why do you think
reogranization of states / country is needed... 'something
like that. I put my idea that we need to break up for
development and its not the only answer.
Interview was little rough, not more than 10 minutes
(unlike others), don't know why.
1. First person was focusing on my bio-data form, about my
current job and why returned from the US after 4 years and
about my pay expectation etc.,
2. second person asked about banking hierarchy and the
functionalities of syndicate bank. (I said, i had no idea
about synd.bank)
3. Third person asked about my native place's history and
about a non farm employment. (had no answer to the latter)
4. Fourth person, just said, THANK YOU :-)

MY INTERVIEW WAS PO SBI ONLY NOT RURAL SAMJHE .
DON'T CONFUSE OTHER PEOPLE IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.
INTERVIEW CALL IS BASED ON ROLL NO., NOT ON MERIT OR RURAL,
VURAL OK.

Hi dear,
as i said my interview center was Bhopal.
really i don't know about total shortlisted candidate.
but i had talk with sbi person he told that here only 314
candidates have been called for gd/pi. They also told us
chances are more bcoz due to delay in result of sbi, so many
people become already engaged in other banks. so guys don't
fear, keep your confidence.
