If you create network on single switch and you are using same
IP range in all department then you have to configure VLAN.

VLAN:- VLAN stand for Virtual local area network which
are use to divide a switch network into small virtual local
area network and separate each department.

If you are using same IP range and different different
switch for each department and every switch connected to the
each other then you will have to used subnetting.
