In VxVm why should we do for Disk Group import and Deport?

to access a shared disk group by using import and deport
commands.
if the disk group is sharable diskgroup ( created with
internal disks or external storage) and if you want to use
that share diskgroup you need to import that diskgroup once
you finished deport it.
why exactly mean common share of data.
