Why the Rajputs were repeatedly defeated by the turks..

Answer / rajeshwar

While Answer 1 is correct, it can be said further that among
the rajputs their was a great amount of personal rivalry and
they would go to any extent to satisfy their misplaced ego,
resulting in disunity while facing an invader. Further, the
concept of India, as we understand it today, was quite alien
to them-their own little "kingdoms" were their countries and
even the adjoining "king" was a rival to be fought and
defeated. Therefore, the muslim invaders came and defeated
rajput kings one by one, quite often with the help of some
other rajput kings.

Why the Rajputs were repeatedly defeated by the turks..

Answer / pardeep

The main reasons were as follows;-

1. They do not have a standing army and only at the time of
war they mustered an army , which was not coordinated.

2.They give more importance to a king, if the king dies the
army surrender or flee from the battle field.

3.Age old techniques and weapons, while the central asian
brought new technologies.

4.They were not united due false ego of greatness of its
tribe and fought one by one.

5.They recruited soldiers from their own tribe wrether they
are strong or weak.

6. The king himself take part in battle so the coordination
of forces further decreases.

7.The horses and weapons of central asians are better than
those of indians.

8.The central asians are away from their homeland so they
have to fight with all their might because losing battle
means losing everything.

9.Better process for the recruitment of commander, while in
india it is hereditary.

10. And the greatest reason "the indian caste system" which
creates division of society so they donot gotmuch help from
the people itself becausde for them it hardly matters who
is the king.

Why the Rajputs were repeatedly defeated by the turks..

Answer / jaydeepsinh

The Rajputs were none other than ancient Kshatriyas. This is fact.

After the conquest of Sindh, The Muslim Arabs fought many times with Indian Kings but they had to face the mighty Pratihara empire which was more than a match for them. As a result, they could gain no more territory in India for 300 years adn even their hold on Sindh was very feeble & subject to mercy of Pratiharas.

Even before the Pratiharas, Yasovarman & Lalitaditya most likely defeated the Arabs but this requires further research before considering it as irrefutable fact.

In the 10th century, the empire of Pratihar started losing power, and their fuedatories became independent. None of them however became strong enough to force others to submit to them & create an empire. The Shahis of Afghanistan & Pakistan at that time were likely the most powerful Indian kings in North India during the time of Mahmud Ghazni.

Mahmud Ghazni was a very powerful emperor who ruled over a very extensive empire. People seem to forget this quite conveniently. The Rajput kings with whom he fought were not so powerful.

However, Ghazni could gain no territory in india beyond Punjab.

For the next 175 years, his successors fought many wars with Indian kings but could not win any territory. Only in the time of Mohammad Ghori, who had destroyed the power of Ghaznis, by fate northern India came under him.

Even then, the Delhi Sultanate never had much power beyond a few hundred miles beyond Delhi for their entire history. During their time, there were powerful Rajput kingdoms but their history is not taught to us.

Only during the time of Mughals did the power of the Muslims extended over a very large extent in India.

Hence, it is false that Rajputs were repeatedly defeated by Turks. They lost some very important battles but they also won many times.

Why the Rajputs were repeatedly defeated by the turks..

Answer / ahivarn

Far from that. First there is a distinction between Afghan and Turks. Turks looted and destroyed Afghans. Turks came from Central Asia. Afghans are well Afghanis. Turks and Mongols destroyed and ruled Middle East , North Africa and South Asia for 500 + years. Read about mongols sack of baghdad. The Siege of Baghdad, occurring from January 29 until February 10, 1258, entailed the investment, capture, and sacking of Baghdad, the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate, by Ilkhanate Mongol forces and allied troops. The Mongols were under the command of Hulagu Khan, brother of the khagan Möngke Khan, and had intended to further extend their rule into Mesopotamia but not to directly overthrow the Caliphate. They were pagans and Buddhists. Now, Afghans were not allowed to enter India. Turks though ruled rom India to North Africa.
But Rajputs defeated them many times. Infact it led to the downfall of Turks in 1206 and rise of Rajputana.
The break-up of the Gurjara-Pratihara empire led to a phase of political uncertainty in north India. As a result, little attention was paid to the emergence of the aggressive and expansionist Turks.
Muhammad of Ghori attacked Prithviraj 16 times but defeated. Only in the 17th time; generally considered the second time between Prithviraj and Ghori did he decieved and defeated Chauhan. He was later killed by the blind Chauhan though.

After Ghori, Iltutmish came and established Slave dynasty. They were the same Mamluks who destroyed Islamic and ROman empires but failed to destroy India. He despatched an expedition against the Chalukyas of Gujarat but it was repelled with losses. In 1239 AD, Rajiya; Iltutmish's daughter the next ruler was killed by Indian bandits.

The so called islam-powered Khilji (Afghans) ruled for just 30 years and were killed by their own.
The next were Tughluqs. 1334. They were successively defeated by the Pandyan kingdom (Madurai); this was followed by Warangal. In 1336 the Vijayanagara empire and in 1337 the Bahamani kingdom were founded after defeating Tughlaks and snatching their lands. Don't forget here that Rajputana remained independent till the late 20th century!

1398: Timur came, destroyed Tughluqs. Critically they had converted to Islam and that made a lot of difference. After all, we don't consider Indo-Greeks and Indo-Hunas as invaders.
After Timur, came Mughal(Mongol) empire.
But do remember that the majority and original Mongols are still buddhists and worship Hindu Gods too. They live in Mongolia.
So, this is the answer to those who try to paint us and our religion and our country as loser!

Why the Rajputs were repeatedly defeated by the turks..

Answer / sarzin

i couldn't help myself getting annoyed at your indulgences
on Turkic culture.
ill talk about that rajput thing later, but let me be
answered ,what do you know about turks?
Turks had society almost entirely nomadic. Formed by riders
perfected by time and superior physique .
No they werent buddha worshiper.besides the carnage they
committed on their defeated subjects would amass to more
than the total number of buddhists.
turks were shamanistic clans fighting, assimilating ,
slaughtering or exiling each other. at times just migrating
to live in a settled empire. the first turks to do this were
seljuks led by seljuk beg. in the centuries that followed
saw other turkic clans -excluding khazars ,all were muslims.
and only the most impoverished ,lost in battle ,weak or rich
craving clans came to india .
Even though the subcontinent had riches ,the weather was
around 10 degrees warmer than their native land.
And for instance , turks and mongols belonged in the turkic
language family ,so at times of war ,distress they preferred
aiding each other. Like tamerlane was a turk with a manner
of mongol blood in him. for ending , a fact is most turks
are muslims ,but most mongols aren't Buddhists but yes a
sizable portion of the mongols are.
Now the rajputs, no free pure turk ever entered india ,they
never were interested. every time they recruited afghan or
turkic mercenaries and nonetheless turks were worlds finest
horse riders .better than arabs or persians. with another
upperhand of muskets ,rajputs never could've held a
noteworthy deterrent to the hordes.
Besides, turk muslims, executed more muslim than hindu kings
to lay their empire bedrock
