If employess salary is less than Rs 6500/- p.m. then can employer if desires need not deduct PF . ..

Answer / varadan

YES, Its mandatory to deduct PF if employees salary is less than 6500/- (now is raised to 15000/-).

If basic is 5000/-

5000*12/100 = 600 ( employee contribution)
6500*12/100 = 780 ( employer contribution)

total = 1380

PF APPLICABLE FOR :

1. If more than 20 employees are working in a company
2. If more than 5 employees in a cinema theatre.
3. If more than 50 employee in a cooperative society .

that means if 2/3 employees are working in a small scale company is not compulsory to pay PF.

( now the minimum basic is raised to 15000.so less than 15000 (basic) you must contribute for PF.
