GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service. GPRS is a
technology
where mobile phone users can transfer data using "packets"
of information rather than conventional "circuit switched"
communications. Packet communication systems have an inherent
advantage over circuit switched systems due to the fact that
packet based wireless communications networks can provide
data services "on demand" to the subscriber, without being tied
down to a dedicated connection.
