If the question is related to disk-layouts there are 3+1.
1.Simple
2.Sliced
3.CDS
+4.NONE (We can initialize a disk without above three when
we have a special purpose.
If the question is related to volume-layouts there are
1.concat-mirror
2.mirror-stripe
3.raid5
4.mirror
5.concat
6.stripe

Layouts are like Concatenation,Striped Mirror and RAID5..
Sivakrishna is correct.
Sliced and CDS..these are all mentioned as formats of the
disks the way we want the disks to be created.
As we mention like 'FORMAT = SLICED' then the disk will be
created as sliced disk.

I am asking about layouts which is sliced,simple and other
one is there i dont know exactly..and wht is the task of
those layout.

in VXVM we have 2 layouts
1:concatination(default)
2:strippedmirror
these layouts are set that field as concatination/strippedmirror
