Now after VAT has been introduced, filing of VAT Return is
initself a self assessment of the Assessee. In CST Assessee
has to file a annual recociliation statement for each year
on or before end of none months from the end of relevant
financial year. That is aself assessment of assessee.
However the department may call the asseseee for
assessment on notice, in that case assessee need to go to
department for its assesssment.
Documents required for Assessment............
1. Audited B/S anf F/S.
2. Statement of accounts of Sales and Purchases
3. Invoices and Bills.
4. Copy of Returns filed to department.
5. Challans of proof of payments.
