Question { 2211 }
how we calculate electricity unit ( meter unit.. for knowing how many charges) from on motor load.?
Answer
the power consumed can be read from the nameplate of the appliance and this multiplied by the time gives KWH if time were in hours. This divided by 1000 gives the units consumed and multiply this units by per unit charge. Note that per unit charge may be slabs, so that if your usage exceeds certain value, you may have to pay double oor tripple or more charges.
But the basic problem in finding the time of operation of AC is that, it is not easy to predict how much time it wil operate?. It depends on two things. one is the heat load. if you are frequently opening the doors of the air conditioned room, the heat load will be more and the AC will operate more time. Second the hysteresis of the AC. This may either be manufacturer set or user configurable. If it is user configurable, try a wide hysteresis to lower the time of operation of AC and its frequent start/stops. But this sacrifies your comfort.
