White box testing conducted by the developers only.Main
approch of this testing Unit and Integration comes under
whitebox. Logic based testing.

It is a test case design method that uses the control
structure of the procedural design to device test cases

white box testing is the test design method.
This kind of test based on the knowledge of internal logic
of a particular applicaton code. This testing is based on
the coverage of code statements, paths, condition.

white box testing is very essential need for a large
software and it is used to test the internal architecture
of the project and refferd to as logical testing.....

White box testing doing tester test application by tools.

This is type of testing to check the output of the program
given certain input confirm to structural specification of
the program

White Box Testion is a test design method andit is
conducted by the developer only and it is also called as
glass, structural, open box or clear box testing

1. White box testing is the test design meted.
2. The white box test is basic knowledge on internal logic
of a particular application code.
3. The white box testing is based on the coverage of a
code statement,paths and conditions.

Looks like every body has dropped the idea of discussing it
in details, what is white box testing? every one says its
the developer who does that...but you dont know it, am i
right?

First thing White Box Testing is Done By Tester not
Developers. Those Who Know the complete coverage of the
program logic. For this We should know the specification and
the code to be tested. Knowledge of programming languages
and logic.
Major Roles of White Box Tester is:

a. check coding standards are met

b.To ensure DB changes are updated properly

c.To check conditional coverage and statement coverage

Typical white box test design techniques include:

• Control flow testing
• Data flow testing
• Branch Testing

As a White Box Test Engineer i am Handling Following Stuffs:

Segment coverage
Branch Coverage
Compound Condition Coverage
Basis Path Testing
Data Flow Testing
Loop Testing
Static and dynamic Analysis
Security Testing
Mutation Testing

Also known as glass box, structural, clear box and open box
testing. A software testing technique whereby explicit
knowledge of the internal workings of the item being tested
are used to select the test data. Unlike black box testing,
white box testing uses specific knowledge of programming
code to examine outputs. The test is accurate only if the
tester knows what the program is supposed to do. He or she
can then see if the program diverges from its intended goal.
White box testing does not account for errors caused by
omission, and all visible

WHITE BOX TESTING IS BASED ON THE ERROR BASED TECHNIQUE.IT
IS ALSO CALLED AS PATH TESTING

testing of each and every line of code of an application is
called white box testing...... it is done by developers.....

to do a white box testing developer has to follow these
steps............

1.path testing
2.conditional testing
3.loop testing
4.memory testing
5.performance testing

White box testing (a.k.a. clear box testing, glass box
testing, transparent box testing, translucent box testing or
structural testing) uses an internal perspective of the system
to design test cases based on internal structure. It requires
programming skills to identify all paths through the software.
The tester chooses test case inputs to exercise paths through
the code and determines the appropriate outputs. In electrical
hardware testing, every node in a circuit may be probed and
measured; an example is in-circuit testing (ICT).
