It takes almost one year. U need to apply in the month of
April every year. Once you are selected by computer from a
pool of application, they start processing your application.
And after that you will receive a notification online. Next
step is US consulate interview. After successfully
completing interview it will take approximately 4-5 days

Now a days the procedure has changed. After selection and
facing interview at Consulate office particularly U.S.
embassay at mumbai They are giving a Questionnary Form
Which is to be filled through Internaet and They will take
about 2 weeks to eight weeks time to give an email call for
H1B visa samping on passport. There after The cases have
been reported that Consulate office have more than a month
time to return the Pass port. And some of the Applicants
have not received their poss port.There is a Cumbersome and
laybrinth process at us embassay at Mumbai and the
Applicants are facing plight on this matter.

I had my H1-B visa interview today (29th October 2009), my interview went well however i was sent back with my passport and 221g form saying my title did not show up in their system and as soon as it does i have to submit my passport to get my visa stamped. Hi, My petition for H1B has been approved. There is a problem though. In my passport my name has been mentioned as VATSA TANGA. But in all my certificates and educational documents my name is mentioned as SRI VATSA TANGA. On asking the person responsible for visa process in my company, he said that I should not go for a change in the passport name, because the petition was approved on the basis of the name mentioned in the passport ie.VATSA TANGA. Please tell me what should I do now. Should I get a document from a notary saying that VATSA TANGA and SRI VATSA TANGA is the same person? Please suggest.
