Here is the ans with explanation.....
Just divide 48 hours into 8 parts...
for flowchart its 1/4 so it is 2/8 = 12hours
For Coding it is 3/8 = 18 hours
the rest is again 3/8 = 18 hours for debugging..

Answer / santhana krishnan
He is spending 1/4 hours for preparing the flow chart.
=> 12/48
Again he is spending 3/8 hours for coding.
=> 18/48
12/48 + 18/48 + x/48 = 1
(12 + 18 + x)/48 = 1
==> 30 + x = 48
x = 48 - 30 = 18

Answer / shanoor
first consider 1/4 means out of 4hrs he uses 1hr for flow
chart,4*12=48 .out of 4hrs we take 1hr only 1*12=12.so he
takes 12hrs out 48 hrs for flow chart.next he spends 3/8
means 8*6=48.out 8hrs spends 3hrs for the coding so
3*6=18.by this 18hrs spends for the coding .total he spends
12+18=30 hrs out 48hrs .only 18 for the debugging .

Answer / mallinath
flow chart=48(1/4)=12
coding=48(3/8)=18
so flow chart+coding+debugging=48
12+18+debugging=48
48-12-18=debugging
debugging=18
so 18 is the answer

he works 48 hours during a week.
1/4th of his time = flow chart = 48/4 = 12 hour.
3/8th of his time = coding = 48 * 3/8 = 18 hour.
Rest time = 48 - (12+18) = 18 hours for debugging.
