No developer in 8x,no lock files in 9x.SFTP comes as open source in 8x, SFTP comes as inbuilt in 9x.for system maintanence we can disable all packages in 8x,in 9x we have an option IS admin QC mode for system maintanence.
Command central intraduced in 9.x.

difference between 8x and 9x..

The main difference is the use of a new ESB bus called universal messaging.
In 8.x we use WM Broker as bus but in 9.x we use the same broker and the posibility to use the new WM bus called universal messaging.
In futur, WM Broker will be removed.
