I justified the logic in answer #2. However
I will have to admit that there appears to be two answers
that could be considered correct. How are you going to
chose which is correct? I think the logic in answer #2 is
more refined in its conclusion.

It must end in 2. all ther ansewers end in the smallest
number in the series. It must end in 2.
