sry guys ans is 14/19 vch is greater den 1/2...

shifting is allowed therefore shift 9red balls to green bag
which makes it 1 nd 19 (red balls in each bag)

so probability = (1/2)*1+1/2(9/19)=14/19 :) :) :)

10 green balls. You are allowed to move the balls between the boxes so that There are two boxes, on..

Answer / m4a1_cs

how this can be???
the probability for selecting red box is 1/2 but randomly if
we select green box, the probability will be 0.
so, total probability for this case is 0.5.

now consider the other case, 9 red balls are transferred to
green ball box. now total balls in that box will be 19.

total probability = probability to select 1st box +
probability to select 2nd box

= (1/2)*(1C1/1C1)+(1/2)*(9C1/19C1)

= (1/2)*(1+9/19)

= (1/2)*(28/19)

= 14/19

You are allowed to move the balls between the boxes so that
There are two boxes, one containing 10 red balls and the
other containing 10 green balls.when you choose a box at
random and a ball at random from the chosen box, the
probability of getting a red ball is maximized. This maximum
probability is

When ever you think your selected box have maximum no of
probability that means p(ball taken) maximum is 1.
but you must first select the box from two boxes this p(box
choosen) is always constant=1/2.
Finally the answer is maximum p(getting a red ball)=1/2

10 green balls. You are allowed to move the balls between the boxes so that There are two boxes, on..

Answer / srinivas

First to select a box the probability is ½.
Initially if I select a ball from the box containing red balls the probability is 1.
After shifting the balls the maximum balls shifted is 10.
Then the probability of selecting a red ball from 20 is ½
Therefore the answer is ½*1+1/2*1/2 =3/4
