Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the
expression

N = X - Y - Z

where X, Y and Z are variables representing single digits (0
to 9), Alok would like to maximize N while Bhanu would like
to minimize it. Towards this end, Alok chooses a single
digit number and Bhanu substitutes this for a variable of
her choice (X, Y or Z). Alok then chooses the next value and
Bhanu, the variable to substitute the value. Finally Alok
proposes the value for the remaining variable. Assuming both
play to their optimal strategies, the value of N at the end
of the game would be

Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N = X - Y - Z where X, Y..

Answer / vishnu

alok says first number as 5 ,then bhanu substitutes it for y (say)..then the value will be x-5-z
then wat ever alok says it will be substituted in x or z ...if he says <5 then any number he says next will be negative answer only ...so he says <5 then also the same thing happens ...so finally the negative answer in the options will be the answer and there will be only one negative answer in the options (that is the twist in the problem):)

Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N = X - Y - Z where X, Y..

Answer / deepak

since ALOK is selecting the values for X,Y,Z and as he is
trying to obtain a max value for N he needs to select 9,0,0
for X,Y,Z respectively since,N=9-0-0=9(max case)
But as BHANU wants a minimum value for N he will most likely
will want to obtain a negative value for N,He would hve chosen
values for X,Y,Z as 0,9,9..since N=0-9-9=-18(min case)
NOW, ALOK is chosing values n BHANU is assigning them
we will obtain -9
since, N=0-9-0=-9

Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N = X - Y - Z where X, Y..

Answer / praveen

here alok try to maximize the value (0 to 9) so he says
0.then bhanu will substitute it for x or y or z.then N may
either of N=x-y or N=y-z or N=x-z.
next alok need to select value so he thinks to maximize the
value.when he select 6 bhanu will substitute it then N will
be either x-6 or 6-y.then if alok select value 1 will get -5
or 5.if he select 9 N will be 3 or -3.when if 5 is selected
x-5 or 5-z. then possible maximum value is 4 or -4.so 4 will
be answer because if 5 is selected probability of getting 4
is high.so alok need to maxize N will select 5.

Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N = X - Y - Z where X, Y..

Answer / shatanu

Alok like to maximize the value, Bhanu like to minimize the value,
for any value 1 to 9 value of the equation
N=X-Y-Z will be negative
minimum value will be X=Y=Z=9, N= -9 and maximum value
will be X=Y=Z=0 so, N=0
maximum value is 0(>any negative value).
