What would you do if you were asked to test a system which is
unfamiliar to you has out-of-date or inadequate documentation?

If possible, I would like to have a talk with the stakeholders, developers and the testers who tested it previously and would build an understanding of the system. Secondly, I would do the exploratory testing to explore the requirements and flow of the system on the basis of the experience. Finally I would document all the understandings and get them reviewed to create test cases and other data to test the system.
