GC: Is used for analysis of volatile compounds and thermal stable, (detectors are FID,TCD,ECD and pCD i.e...)volatility is important for GC.
HPLC : Non volatile and compounds having chromophores is used for HPLC (Here voltatile nature is not important both volatile and non volatile compounds are analysd on HPLC but volatile nature is very important to GC.
