why it is necessary to short and ground of a current
transformer secondary side?
Answer Posted / k.prakashchandra
Shorting is done ,when the ct is not in use or in case of
spare ct, to prevent development of high voltage in
secondary.Grounding is done to remove the influence of high
primary voltage due to capacitance between primary and
secondary, and insulation failure.
