what is difference between GC & GC-HS

Answer Posted / mr.bujji reddy kanchi

GC-HS is useful for Residual solvents. since the sample is
heated about 40 minutes. then the volatiles present in the
sample will come to the empty space(Head space)of the vial.
then the needle will suck the vapour and inject into GC. It
means we are extracting the volatiles from the material
before injection.

In case of GC- Direct injection, sample also will go into
GC.
