The tonoplast is composed of proteins, including
glycoproteins and enzymes, amd lipids including
glycolipids. However, the relative amount of constituents
appears to vary considerably. Tonoplast is considered as
non-membrane bounded organelle since they are not
surrounded by plasma membrane or double membrane
