plc.how analog card work,Please explain in detail.Please
send it on abhi_vyas@sify.com

Answer

Analog card means the signals may interms of 4-20 ma , 1-5 v
ie variable source of signals.
Digital cards means the source of signals may interms of
binary o & 1, no & nc contacts ie 24v or 0v.

for example transmitters are produce 4-20 ma ,and it is
called analog input.

limit switches ,On & Off switches are called digital
signals.

Question { 5763 }

generally for transmitter we are giving supply 24vlts?but we
are getting output 4-20ma ? how it is possible? is there any
operation inside the tx?pls give complete information?

Answer

24v is a supply source for tx. if it is a pressure tx, a
diapharm placed inside the tx. it will sense the pressure.
depending upon the pressure level ,the diapharm moved
between top to bottom & a position feedback signal is
generated depends upon the diapharm level, this signal is 4-
20 ma.
