Question { ABB, 23515 }

yogokowa field bus system transmitter all's we are geting
IOP fault in Contiunes please help me fine how we can
normal the broblems?

Answer

IOP Faults are very common in any Yokogawa Fieldbus setup.

As rightly stated in Ans 1, it means Input Open. The idea here is that there is an open circuit somewhere. The circuit here may be the physical circuit or the logical circuit. By logical circuit, I mean the control drawings.

Now lets look are typical scenarios and solutions:

1. Transmitter input over ranged: For a transmitter that is supposed to transmit up to 100%, if its getting a 110% input, it goes on IOP (+) but you will not see the + most times. Under ranged transmitter would give IOP-.
Solution: Get the transmitter input back to the normal range.

2. Consider a control loop with a transmitter input to a controller. whenever the transmitter fails, the controller will give an IOP fault i.e reporting that its input is open - in this case, check the transmitter and possibly change it if bad.

3. Sometime control valves give IOP when they are faulty.

4. Loop component failures can also cause IOP. Check components like the Mega blocks, connectors etc

In general, initial troubleshooting will be re-downloading the control drawing. You can also perform reconfiguration of the Fieldbus devive.

Hope this clarifies.

Question { 2772 }

We are used CENTUM CS3000 of YOKOGAWA. please tell me how to simulate wihtout FCS and vnet.

Answer

Hello,

Note: PLEASE DO NOT SIMULATE ON A LIVE PLANT!!!

The Yokogawa CS3000 allows you to run simulation if properly installed with the right licenses. To run the CS 3000 on simulation, please do the following:

For an already created project:
Open System View, Right Click on the FCS you intend running simulation and the click on the TEST Function.

If you do not have a project already created:

Open the system View,

1. Create a new project
File-> Create new-> Project (Give your project a name)

2. Create a new FCS -
File-> create New-> FCS (choose the type of FCS you want)

3. You can also create I/Os if required.

4. when you are done, you go ahead to simulate by right clicking on the FCS and then TEST FUNCTION.

**REMEMBER: DO NOT RUN A TEST FUNCTION ON A LIVE PLANT**
