a clock which gains uniformly was observed to be 5min slow at 12 noon on monday. it was noticed ..

Answer / roy

10 pm on monday.
From 5 min slow to 10 min fast, the clock gained 15 mins
This it did in 30 hrs (12 noon to 12 noon plus 6 hrs next
day). so to gain 1 min it took 2 hrs (30/15). So to make up
the late timin of 5 mins (and thus to show the correct
timing) it will take 5*2=10 hrs. 12 noon to 10 hrs is 10pm.

a clock which gains uniformly was observed to be 5min slow at 12 noon on monday. it was noticed ..

Answer / swetha

It is 5 minutes slow at 12 noon and is seen to be 10 minutes fast at 6 pm the next day.So the total minutes which the clock has gained is 15 minutes. The total number of hours to gain 15 minutes is 30 hours. So to gain 5 minutes ,we have to cross multiply
2×30/15=10 hours
Therefore add 10 hours to 12 noon .You get the answer as 10 pm on the same day.
