Explain the pathophysiology and symptoms of common pediatric conditions such as asthma, otitis media, and gastroenteritis.
Answer / Anoop Kumar Dubey
Asthma is characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, causing difficulty breathing, coughing, wheezing, and chest tightness. Otitis media, or middle ear infection, occurs when fluid builds up in the middle ear, often leading to pain, fever, and hearing loss. Gastroenteritis, or stomach flu, is caused by viruses or bacteria that inflame the stomach and intestines, resulting in symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever.
