What is the difference between ripv1 & ripv2?
Answer / Saurabh Asthana
RIP (Routing Information Protocol) version 1 and RIP version 2 are routing protocols used in IP networks. The main differences between them are:
1. RIPv1 has a maximum hop count of 15, meaning it can only handle networks with up to 15 hops. This limitation is removed in RIPv2.
2. RIPv2 supports VLSMs (Variable Length Subnet Masks) and route tags, while RIPv1 does not.
3. RIPv2 uses MD5 for authentication, while RIPv1 does not have any built-in security features.
