What is the difference between media recovery & crash recovery?
Answer / Parul
Media recovery is the process of recovering data from backup files (datafiles and archive logs) after a media failure like a disk crash or human error. Crash recovery, on the other hand, is the automatic recovery that occurs when an instance crashes unexpectedly. During crash recovery, Oracle rolls back all uncommitted transactions to bring the database to a consistent state.
