jester of the court. This made the jester arrogant and
conceited. He frequently made fun of the courtiers and
offended them. But none dared to complain against him to
the king as he was the royal favourite. They bore the
humiliation quietly. One day he went too far. In a

the king himself. He thought that the king would appreciate
it. But he was wrong. The king felt offended and highly

this had no effect on the king. He remained firm. Some
admirers of the jester then intervened for the jester.

and spare his life. The king now relented a bit. He said
he would not withdraw the sentence of death penalty. He
would, however, allow him to die the death of his choice.
