Explain neutrophils?
Answer / Gaurav Goel
Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell that play a critical role in defending the body against bacterial and fungal infections. They are the most abundant type of granulocyte, accounting for 50-70% of all white blood cells. Neutrophils have a multilobed nucleus and granules containing enzymes such as lysozyme, lactoferrin, myeloperoxidase, and collagenase. They are the first line of defense against infections and can move quickly through the bloodstream to reach sites of inflammation.
