What is the cause of thrashing?
Answer / Niharika Nandan
Thrashing occurs when a system spends too much time moving pages in and out of main memory due to insufficient physical memory, causing CPU utilization to decrease even though there are many processes waiting to execute. This happens because the frequent page swapping consumes more CPU cycles than actually executing processes.
